BIO

Doriam Alonso

Doriam Alonso was born in Havana, Cuba, where she studied Dramatic Arts at the Instituto Superior de Arte. She later emigrated to the United States and completed her film studies in Miami at the Miami International University of Art & Design. She currently resides in Valencia.

​

She is currently working on her debut feature film Aura of Agnes.

 

Her latest short film, Sola No, has been selected for and awarded at film festivals in Hungary (Silver BUSHO at Budapest Shorts), Mexico (Jury Award at ShortsMX), France (Cinélatino Toulouse), Russia (Moscow), the United States, and continues its international journey. She is the co-writer of Un blues para Teherán, directed by Javier Tolentino, nominated for Best Documentary at the Goya Awards 2022 and for Best Screenplay by ALMA, the Spanish Screenwriters Guild.

Her short film F was featured at the Los Angeles Short Film Festival, Austin Film Festival, Veracruz Extreme Film Fest (Jury Award), among others, and was recently screened at the Artium Museum of Contemporary Art in Vitoria. 

​

She has also devoted herself to education, giving masterclasses and courses on cinema at various schools.
